Tresaith is a coastal village encircled by steep shale cliffs and bush covered slopes. This popular village lies in a sheltered basin that overlooks the sandy beach and Cardigan Bay.
The River Saith once entered the bay here but it was redirected during the last Ice Age. The stream now joins the sea in the form of a spectacular waterfall to the east of the village.
Local History
As was the case with the majority of beaches along the Ceredigion coast, Tresaith was a haven for a number of small sailing ships throughout the 19th century. Limestone was burnt in two limekilns near to the beach.
The novelist Allen Raine lived in Tresaith
